I consider Jacy to be the very best painter I have ever come across

"I am writing this to praise Jacy Silva. At the risk of making this appear exaggerated (which it is not), I consider Jacy to be the very best painter I have ever come across, bar none. Jacy is the truest of professionals, and what sets him apart is not just his proficiency and competence, but the fact that he truly cares about what he does and the quality of the final result.

I had just had new wooden siding installed on my house, and hired Jacy to paint it, which he did to perfection. Nowadays as I’m passing other houses which had also been re-sided and repainted, I’m struck by a blatant difference in appearance between them and my house: those other painters have simply slapped paint over the new wood, nail-holes and all. These painted nail holes (some beginning to rust, the builders having used the wrong type nail) really stand out. Ugly! In my house, there’s none of that. The surfaces are all smooth. Jacy had taken the precaution of filling all my nail holes with silicone spackle. The siding and trim are perfect, not a nail hole in sight (let alone a rusty one).

I had him paint the siding with a light color. The new wood was already factory-treated with that gray-looking primer. It didn’t take Jacy long to determine that the underlying gray was darkening the appearance of the light color being painted. He stopped, discussed it with me, and recommended we first give the house a coat of white paint to overlay that gray primer. He quickly went and painted two areas of wall, one in color over gray primer, the other in color over white paint. Once dry, the difference was glaringly obvious. Had Jacy not cared, nor been sufficiently expert to understand the problem, my entire house would have ended up looking grayishly ugly.

You’ll have to see him do it, to appreciate it. Jacy actually paints when others just mindlessly brush on paint. Yes, Jacy paints a wall, yet he does it with as much care as if it were a picture. Once I saw the thoughtful care he applies to his work, I asked him to do complicated two- and three-color schemes on certain trim. He did, with the utmost precision. An amazing result.

And if you happen to have a quality paint job to do inside your house, one that simply must be perfect, believe me that Jacy is the one who will do it as well if not better than you expect. And I repeat, Jacy cares. Not only about the painted surface, but also about the surrounding area. He’ll put drop cloths and masking tape where necessary, watch out for stray drops of paint… Jacy does not cause collateral damage!

And all this quality and care comes at a very affordable price. What had most surprised me was the realization that while Jacy outbid the other fellows, he also ended up providing far superior results. The friend who recommended him to me said it would be so. I was skeptical but decided to follow my friend’s advice. His advice was true and I never regretted following it."
